All Online Energy Tarrifs to end?

Just got a call from EDF who used to supply our home with G&E.

The guy told me that ALL online energy tarrifs will be ending in the summer this year, as NO company makes any money out of them (huh??!).

Basically it just sounded like a line to get my interest to switch back to them.

Anyone else heard if this is actually true? I'm sure it's more likely that the Government have said that ALL customers should be able to get the lowest cost, rather than just people with t'internet.

That will come as news to those of use who have signed up with Online Saver 7 until 31/12/11...

Scottish and Southern pulled there internet tariff "go direct 5" today for new customer. My mum was about to sign up and was told no longer available. And no other no line tariffs available at present.

Maybe internet deals are coming to an end

We have Click Energy 6 from British Gas and they informed us a couple of months ago that this tariff would end in June/July, I assumed there would be other comparable ones to switch to when the time came.
