Just to update - did the forms and saw my GP yesterday. She said she's getting letters from the DWP on a daily basis - everyone's being reassessed and that she will do her best for me. It went so much better than I thought it would, was scared she'd use this as an attempt to get me locked up (long story) but we had a really good open chat and I finally slept last night for the first time in a week. I feel like a huge weight has been lifted, obviously not out of the woods yet, but looking hopeful. Sent forms today (OK they included a paid envelope but I paid the extra to get it sent recorded so no disputing when it arrived at the DWP. NOw just got to get my car tax done (due end of April) while I still get HRM. Will update when I know more - fingers and toes crossed!0

Glad you were able to get support from your GP and complete your form, ipudgirl.
Am horrified to hear that certain CAB are only able to see people who are eligible for legal aid.
Not so at my CAB. We have had our funding secured for the next 3 years so are able to continue. We see everyone who drops in or rings up. Everyone gets a brief assessment. Some will then get an appointment with the Legal Aid specialists, others may get signposted elsewhere to another organisation better suited to their enquiry, but we still offer appointments to anyone we can help, within a few days, normally.
Every CAB is run independently according to national standards of service and information, but the funding will vary from place to place.0 -
It's a double-edged sword. Obviously the waiting is stressing me out and I can't plan for my future, but the longer it takes ... my next payment is due a week Tuesday and my car tax at the end of the month...amd there's all the Easter/wedding bank hols at the end of the month.
Just wondering if, please god no, they decide I'm magically "cured" and fighting fit overnight, when they decide payments will stop - can they backdate the decision and demand I repay them?0 -
Just had mine reassesed lost the high and middle and went to low on both. So be warned. My car's being collected on the 15th.0

Merlin you need to appeal not just let them walk over you.0

Before you go to the appeal or tribunal ask them how they suggest you get there bearing in mind that your mobility allowance and car has been taken away from you and you can only get there with your manual wheelchair and public transport.Do not be fooled into believing that this society cannot be made fairer because hard work isn't necessarily all it takes.
There are those on MSE DT who know the price of everything but the value of little.0 -
before considering an appeal if you are unhappy with the way atos has treated you/behaved PLEASE phone the DWP and begin the official complaints procedure, an appeal tells no-one about atos's dispicable behaviour, enough official complaints and people will have to listen, also phoning your local mp for an appt after complaining goes a long way0
