Another hidden EDF price hike

Is there anyone else out there scrabbling around to find a replacement for EDF's online saver v5? They're (literally) pulling the plug on it at the end of March and putting us back on "standard" tariff. We've checked every switching site available, and the best we can get is savings of minus £56 a year. (though you do also get a condescending letter from the company cheerily stating that "all good things must come to an end" - no extra charge for that...)

'Hidden'? 'Literally'? 'All good things come to an end' - savings from elsewhere are minus £56 - in what way is that 'condescending'.
Uhm, what is your actual complaint? That EDF have been offering you a cheap tariff and no-one else (even them) can currently offer a better deal?
What is the 'hidden' hike?0 -
Looks like they have pulled the latest online saver as well. Cheapest with them is the fixed saver that I hopefully switched to from their website last week although they don't seem to send a confirmation e-mail.0

Ouch!
No complaint, Kim: my first posting, and a request for advice. "Hidden" because the deal wasn't fixed term; by closing it, EDF customers are forced to pay more, even if they switch, and that's not been publicised. I wondered how many others were looking for the least-worst alternative.0 -
It's no surprise that you will have to pay more as prices have gone up. You should be putting in the standard EDF tariff in the comparison sites to see where to move to now.0

I'm umming and erring about what to change to aswell! Just spoke to EDF on the phone and the best they could offer was the fixed saver. But the guy reckoned a new online saver would be coming out so they're phoning me back next week and I'm making a decision then.
That's good customer service if they do I think! :T
A question about switching: If I want to switch now, do I go on to EDF's standard tariff while the switch is taking place? That may negate any saving I'd make with another supplier if I did.Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0 -
No, you (by law) should be kept on the tariff you are on now until the change takes place. EDF know this but will not tell you. Best of luck (be firm tell them you know you rights.)
PS Switching could take many weeks. just tell them you are switching and that you want to be kept on the present tariff untill the change goes through.0 -
Right I take it all back about EDF.
They were supposed to phone last night but didn't. No problem I thought, as the fixed saver is still on their website so I'll just phone them in the morning to get put on to that, as the guy last week said it _wasn't_ getting withdrawn.
So I phone this morning, fixed saver still on the website. Oh sorry madam, that was withdrawn at midnight.:mad::mad::mad::mad:
Switch to British Gas is now done as EDF have p!ssed me off so much. But the bl00dy annoying thing is, I'm now on EDF's standard tariff until the switch goes through, as my online one has ended. Might be making a formal complaint about this.Excuse any mis-spelt replies, there's probably a cat sat on the keyboard0
