If you felt that the buyer may not be legit, best to cancel before rather than after they've won. I think that if your gut feeling says they could be trouble, go with it.
Don't forget to block them from bidding on anything else of yours.
Do you have your buyer preferences set up tight?
  • Thanks again hermum, what you said has made me feel a whole lot better about it.:)

Also if I let it run and he didn't win, the bidder who did win would be paying over the top for the mobile. I've a feeling that the dodgy bidder would have won though.

Someone who was going to pay wouldn't like to pay that sort of money for this mobile.

I have blocked him and I think my buyer preferences are tight, thanks again.:)
  • Another person has answered my question on ebays answer centre, they said " I see you have now cancelled the bidder.
He has bids on 35 phones up to now so he could be another scammer".

o perhaps I have done the right thing after all, as long as he doesn't think of sueing me for defamation of character.:D

He'll be too busy working to pay for the 35 phones to get to a solicitor.

Yeah, well done for going to the Answer Centre. They're brilliant there. Perhaps you were right, who knows?

But look, saying 'very suspicious' is not defamation. Could you just stop and think for a minute?

It's a thought of yours which you're perfectly entitled to say and write, whether it is sensible or not.

Going around saying that you're afraid you're going to be sued for saying that you're very suspicious is ludicrous!

Sorry, but that was meant kindly...
  • Your right there hermum:rotfl:or he might be too busy getting NPBs all over the place. Or is it just 3 and your outta there.:D

It was saying he was a nonpayer that I was worried about botanical. not so much attention seeking as a worrier really and someone who panics first then thinks about it after.:o

I didn't know that I came accross as helpless though, sorry about that.:(:)

    That's ok.

Look, I'm sorry if I was too heavy, it was clumsy of me.

I see what you mean about what your concern was.

When you were reassured earlier about the defamation thing and being sued,
    you were reassured and relieved.

But later you went back to it and hadn't got the message so I tried to get through to you how silly that was.

    But don't be put off!

You don't come across as helpless, but to me, very thoughtful and nice.
  • Well thanks very much botanical, I think.

I didn't realise that I was doing all that, oh well it's all sorted now.

Thanks very much everone who answered, and have a great evening.:)
