I just had a guy from G4S come to read my gas meter. I have never heard of them, is this a new energy company?

No they are a meter reading and meter maintainer but the gas supplier will have asked them to read the meter.IT Consultant in the utilities industry specialising in the retail electricity market.

Unless the address was registered wrongly when the supply was installed. Or you're in an area run by an Indipendent Gas Transporter rather than National Grid.
