Glasses Help

I bet it is scary for her. It is probably not about the glasses, but about the way her vision is affected. Was watching Red nose day last week and they did the cataract op on a little one and she was crying when they took the bandages off and DH said - I bet that is really scary - your LO might feel the same. Could you make it a game, not actually putting them on her put holding them infront of her and putting them up to her eyes and taking them away until she gets used to it or something, calmly perhaps while reading a picture book to her. What about playing with a magnifying glass with a book putting it up, then taking it away then doing the same with her glasses?0

I would steer clear of getting her sunglasses to get her used to glasses, just in case you cant get her to part with them !
With my son, who was older than your DD, we used blackmail - ie if you wear them for x length of time, you can have x treat. & if he wouldnt wear them he couldnt watch his favourite tv show (because the Doctor man said so
)
Most important thing to try and do is not make it upsetting for either of you, but be clear she needs them and you cant back down on it.Bow Ties ARE cool :cool:"Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais

Oh and play I spy with and without the glasses. This wont work in the house because she'll know what each thing is already but at the park you can try I spy something yellow. Get DD to point to the yellow thing and name it, if she knows that there's a yellow blur but doesn't know what it is ask her if her magic glasses help.
Oh and all glasses are magic

I remember getting glasses at thirteen and looking up at a tree. Very very odd sensation, as you see every leaf for the first time really. Made me feel dizzy.
Now I feel weird and tall :rotfl: when I take my glasses off.:wall:0
