Also RPI is expected to fall.

I don't think so. The rate of increase may fall, but there's little prospect of the RPI falling.

They are still a good deal IMO but not as good as they were about 12 months ago.
Ah, but you didn't know last year quite what an excellent deal they were! (I refer, of course, to the RPI not the interest rate.)

You did know last year that the VAT cut to 15% was going to be reversed and that a VAT increase was likely. So a rise in RPI was predictable, just as sluggish growth, falling real incomes and the effects of the VAT increase dropping out of the figures is likely to lead to a lower RPI next year.

Approximately how long have new customers (applied online) been waiting for the form that you need to sign? The money has been taken from my account but I have not had the form than needs signing for new customers? TIA.

A lower RPI? Very unlikely - just a lower rate of increase in the RPI.

The context of this statement is the providers view (as I was explaining their rationale for withdrawing/providing).

No, I didn't know, no one could know in advance.
But my view at the time (that they were a great deal) and the general MSE view was correct.
I maxed out then (on the cash I have available) and I'm maxing out now. Although the deal is less good it's still excellent for me (higher rate tax payer with full ISAs).
Unfortunately I don't keep a great deal of cash available as it doesn't make sense to do so.

2 weeks until I got the signature form, only just sent that back yesterday though.

I had mine within a week, no cert yet, but not surprised if they're so busy.
