Leaving LloydsTSB

We recently signed up for a FirstDirect Mortgage and have decided to take advantage of the free banking - especially as we don't rate the service by LloydsTSB at the moment.

I handed in the form last week to transfer the bank account and have just rung up to confirm that the transfer will take place next week (have notified employers to change the bank details to pay our wages etc) but LloydsTSB are not sure if they've had the form and theirs nothing on the system about transferring the account.

So what do I do? First Direct has given us a transfer date of 29th March and most of our DD come out between 28th and 5th of the month so I need to have money in both accounts incase it does in whole or part or not at all get transferred.

I've never transferred an account before - is it always this hard?:o

DEBT FREE for the first time in 10 years and with savings!

You're best dealing with First Direct as they are arranging the transfer. Of course Lloyds TSB are facilitating the transfer, but if something goes wrong, it's First Direct who should take responsibility.

If you're concerned that something has gone wrong (or will go wrong), contact First Direct, not Lloyds TSB - it's likely a very specific department within LTSB deal with outbound transfers, and therefore not something PhoneBank or branch will be able to advise on.
Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.
