Ipod Touch 4thgen 8gb - finance

Hi guys, not sure if this is in the right place or not, so feel free to show me where it is meant to be!

Basically it is my partners birthday coming up so I want to buy her a Ipod Touch 4th gen 8gb, so I was looking at them and having a player with them earlier and want one myself now!

The problem is I can't afford two in one go! so is there anywhere I can buy them from and pay for them in installments over a number of months?

I don't want to pay about £100 extra either and don't want it to drag on for to long, only about 3-4 months.

Thanks alot!

You could order them from a catalogue and pay in installments or apply for a credit card and pay for them in installments or you could do what they did in the olden days and just wait a couple of months and save up.
I get enough exercise just pushing my luck

How about you think of a present that you can actually afford...

Birthdays are not movable feasts. You have had, ooh, eleven months odd to save up for one.

You can't afford two? You can afford one? Hmm. What a difficult quandary. Hmm, buy myself one and get some petrol station carnations for her for her birthday or should I buy her hers first? Nope, no idea what the correct answer to that one is.

Anyway, if you are planning to buy yourself one then what are you buying her for herself for her birthday? 'Cause if you are getting one too then it doesn't qualify as a present.

I got the impression you could afford one for her present but not the one you want for yourself.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

So get hers first in time for her birthday and worry about getting yourself one later?

Get a new girlfriend whose birthday is in February. Then you'll buy yourself almost a year to save for the phones.

Ah, but those missing three days would totally mess up his budget plan!

Feb 29th birthday will work out even better, although the OP wouldn't be able to buy himself as many unbirthday presents either.

oh what a quandry eh? Just got one for my ten year old, and I too want one! However, mine will have to wait - as need to get one as a 'bribery' tool for improved school work, organisation over the last ten weeks for my 12 yr old (but I did give myself 10 weeks to budget for it, as well as to allow the organisation to become a habit!) Solution - well, my kids are at school all day - and not allowed their Ipods in school......so I can play during the day when on a break. I've paid for downloading some of the recipe/shopping list apps that I like - and can print off the list before I go shopping.

If she is your partner, I'm sure she'll let you play on hers a bit while you save for your own.

Oh, btw, they're on sale this week at Makro for £153 (I think it was...) but with Tesco you get a £20 starter pack with AC adaptor, silicone case, screen protector etc. - but their price is £179 - so with points and cash back......Tesco might be the better deal?

Seriously - if you can't afford one for yourself, then make a goal and save for it. Don't forget it will also cost you money to download your Itunes, apps etc. - as most of the really USEFUL ones you do have to pay for. Meanwhile you can have alot of fun on it with some of the free apps.

Addictive though - doesn't begin to describe it - but certainly not worth getting into debt for :)
