Now seeing as this board is all about money, I would like to ask if anyone knows the best way to learn about the stock market and shares alike. I am interested in working within this sector and was looking a little jump start. I'm looking at agencies at the moment but wanted to go in with some knowledge to start with
If this is the wrong place for this thread could someone please direct it to a more relevant site.
Any assistant would be very much appreciated

Not quite sure if it's what your looking for, but I recently opened a Halifax Sharebuilder account
http://www.halifax.co.uk/sharedealing/sharebuilder.shtml
From what I can see, it's for market muppets like me who would like to have a dabble but haven't got very much a)knowledge and b)money. It defrays the cost of buying shares by limiting the number of days a month you can buy (4) resulting in £1.50 charge per transaction rather than >£10. It's also designed for small amounts to be used - lower monthly limit is £20. The selling charge is also reduced (£5 rather than £10). Hence you can invest a small amount and still realistically make a small profit.
Once you're inside the online account, there are all sorts of tutorials and knowledge reviews from beginner to more advanced that you can take, generally written in a concise easy-to-understand way.
Having said all that, my first transaction happens in a week's time, so I'll perhaps know more then!

what part of the industry are you looking at? Nearly all parts require qualifications, some of which may not be achievable until you have already been in the industry for a number of years first in another area.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
