Does this sound expensive?
My house is old - the existing plaster's in a terrible state, nearly every wall is blown.
The quote is to remove loose plaster, dryline the whole house and skim, inc stairs. It's a small 2 bed terrace. The Builder said it would take 2 weeks.
The ceilings are already freshly skimmed.
Muchas Gracias!

Get at least two other quotes for comparison and get quotes from plasterers not builders.

If its an old house why are you drylinng it,solid plasterwork is a far better job.
and the figure is about a thousand to much for me if the ceilngs are already done.0 -

This quote is very vague, if your property is being drylined each wall has to be taken back to brick/block work then you board out to the door lining, if your walls are in a terrible state then no doubt behind the architrave`s is crumbling so these have to come off as do all the skirting boards. There is a fair bit more work involved than you seem to think.0 -
when shes saying drylined, i think she means dot and dabbd then skimmed.0

and it does seem quite high that price, id guess on around £3000....and im a plasterer, not a builder.0

Thats why i said around 4 grand to include removing skirtings etc.
a two bed terrace i can gat a vague outline of the meterage invloved.
I aint a fan of dot and dab,i dont like hollow walls. it has its purpose ie in better thermal values but from a plasterers point of view id have a float and set wall any day.0 -
