Buying Euros.....

My daughter is going over to France for the weekend next Friday. Neither her mum or I have ever had to bother with the sorting out of currency before.
Can someone give me a brief idiots guide to the purchasing of euros as in where is best, how long does it take, can it be done online etc etc?
Many thanks
Martin

Very easy - take cash to your post office (most have exchanges these days, but check) and you'll get Euros instantly!
If you pay by any means other than cash at the post office, you will have to take you passport or other ID.
You can do the same at almost any travel agent, but I think the exchange rate is better at post office and very convienent.0 -
You can do it online. The best bet seems to be Marks and Spencer. I bought my Euro from them in September. They come almost by return of post and they give a good rate of exchange. You have to pay something like £3.00 special delivery fee but you do get the money next day and you are dealing with a reputable company. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

If you have a Nationwide Flex Account you can just withdraw Euros from cash machines anywhere in France (or most other countries). You pay no commission or other charges, and you get a far better rate than exchange places offer.0
