strange student loan

Options
Just checked my A&L account and I`ve been credited with £250 from the student loan co.About 30 years too late.
Will contact bank to let them know, but if anyone is expecting this - it might be an idea to check their account.

I'd have kept stum and spent it on real ale, umbro tops and a glastonbury ticket, it's what it was meant for after all
Aha, so thats how you do a signature!
  • Not quite the same as you Bernard, but Student Loan Co paid £250 into my account yesterday - I have never had a loan, applied for a loan with them and have no idea what or why it's for! I'm keeping stum too, till they/if they ask for it back.

This has happened to quite a lot of ppl, we were told at work to give ppl the customer services number for student loans and ask them to call them direct, not sure what it's all about tho
Nothing's free.....but we'll see what we can do!

I wish they'd give me £250. I have no food and no money!

they accidentally gave me £450, but they'll take it off next year's grant..
  • I left uni in 1974,so I am not entitled to this money and certainly didn`t ask for it. I have never been in contact with the student loan co. It is still in my account. How did they get my bank account details or are they sending money out at random? I feel sorry for the real student who should have got this.
  • Just received a letter from the student loan co dated 17 feb. It seems that this £250 is a part time grant for an ou course.
Very kind of them, but i really don`t remember asking for this. The apr is 2.6% but the letter gives no clue as to how i pay it back.
Think i`ll have a look on the student board now.Never been there before.

I'm an OU student, and would like a random grant with APR of 2.6% that I could put in a savings account with 4.0+% APR.
