Bradford and Bingley

I popped into Bradford and Bingley today, because I couldn't find my daughters savings passbook and was told I would have to pay £10 for a new one. I left deciding to have another look just in case, anyway I haven't got it so thought rather than pay I would close the account and move her money into her Nationwide account who don't charge for passbooks etc. I have just called customer service to check it will be ok to close the account with no book and was told abruptly its the branches discreation whether they will charge me to close the account so he couldn't say.

My DD has had an account there since she was born, 14 years, I have never asked for another book before. Really not impressed with them this is a childrens account and why should some have to pay and others not.

Will see tomorrow now if they try and charge me.
