Will the car fuel allowance go from 40p to 45p today

In todays budget it says that fuel allowance going up to 45p per mile.
is that from today.

It's not entirely clear from the budget document http://cdn.hm-treasury.gov.uk/2011budget_complete.pdf (cf. pp. 38/39, point 1.150).

I would guess, however, that it comes into force from the new tax year.

It comes into effect 6 April 2011.

New rates will be:

45ppm for the first 10,000 miles
25ppm for any additional miles (this bit is not changing)
