Hi Last tuesday I posted 2 letters in one envelope for 2 different accounts with the same provider, and 1 to another creditor, Recorded signed for 1st class, and still nothing is showing up under track and trace service
Its really disheartening because theres £15 worth of postal orders between those envelopes and if they haven't been delivered Id wonder if id get them back
But i didn't put a return address on the back

Suprised the Post Office let you send recorded mail without a return address?"We want the finest wines available to humanity, we want them here, and we want them now!"0

Thats the thing, i dont generally self address the back of anything i send, But i wasnt questioned if the envelopes had a return address. I went to my local sub post office, I just hope these 2 envelopes havent got "lost" I'm starting to think maybe i should have sent cheques instead
but i was advised to send postal orders.

Did you send to addresses that were PO Boxes? If you did then they won't be signed for, but they'll probably still have received them.
I believe you can check whether your postal order has been cashed by taking in the postal order number (or stub or something) to the post office after a couple of weeks. If they've been cashed then presumably you'll know they received them?A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
If you sent crossed postal orders they can only be paid in by the named party. There is a way of tracing them to see if they have been cashed. We had the same problem with recorded - not always signed for. When I queried this with the post office they said that they can be delivered without a signature - to ensure it is signed for you need guaranteed signed for which costs more

i think you can also call the royal mail
0845 77 40 740
they should be able to tell whether it was delivered at least. even if they can't confirm with a signature0 -
I think one of the addresses was a PO BOX, I suppose if the amounts owed on my accounts drop by £5 each then i know they were received lol, i do online banking so i suppose i should keep tabs of "payments received thank you", or possibly wait for some correspondence from them?
I sent the Postal orders Crossed.
Nottolate i called that number yesterday and it was just an automated service, that told me they couldnt tell me anything, other then what it said on the online tracking service which was in the network for delivery.
At the moment my fingers are crossed. But i'm sure id have heard from HSBC Credit Card if they hadnt received it, as i had been on a reduced payment schedule anyway, and if the payment wasn't received it would have missed the deadline and they would have been on the phone quick smart!0 -

there is a number you can call to actually talk to someone then.
i know. i did it last year.
thought that was the number but obviously not0 -
Not too late, I have just checked my online banking, and the Postal Order for my Loan has gone through for payment, so i'm assuming the credit card is the same, but not showing on the online screen yet.
Will check the other balance now too!
Just checked the other balance, and they have a credit on there of £1 so dread to think what they did with the other £4 unless they will credit it at another time!nottoolate wrote: »there is a number you can call to actually talk to someone then.
