Hi Marieb
Good for you. Don't let pride consume you though. I thought exactly the same earlier this year. I lost my job whilst on maternity leave and hubby had been out of work for almost a year. We both struggled to pay our debts and keep up. We both got jobs and were well on our way to getting back on our feet. Then my OH got made redundant again. The only way we can survive this time is to go on a debt management plan. At the moment we can't pay anything towards our debt but as soon as things look up I am going to go on a dmp. National Debtline said that this would make things less stressful for us, as we would only have to deal with one payment a month. This year has been such a struggle for us and prior to this we had never missed payments and had a good credit record. Yes we spent the money but we never really envisaged having such a run of bad luck.
I can sympathise with your situation, I would love to stay at home with my little one, but at the moment I can't. However, I am looking at ways to work from home. Is there anything you could do at home. Childminding perhaps!

Hi Marie
Im interested! Good to hear from you. I am like you, I want to pay my debts back and I am - minus the interest. I know the interest is part of the course but I ran out 0% options otherwise it would have taken 137 years to pay off and I was really maxed out. Good on you for battling on under your own steam - but hey, give payplan or CCCS a ring who can help and make your life easier.
Childcare - My wife is due next week and she works part time. As we dont qualify for any help either we've done a rough calculation and she will be working for for £70 per week in her pocket after chidlcare. A quandry what does she do?
