Hi all
I post on here every now and then, okay my situation is as follows
I/We owe nearly 80K (3 loans and a car HP and a cc of 2k).
We are currently trying to stay within our OD and trying to gather together some money to start paying off loans etc cc is something we will always use and pay off and use again but on a plus side we only have one instead of 6.
So anyway shortly after all this was decided i was very ill and was treated so naffly by the company i worked for i decided i had to find a new job - so i have unfortunately the job is more per hour but less hours but at least I am happier and I have more time at home with the family- I am hoping this will be a short term thing and more hours will come my way eventually to me making a full time return to work or at least school hours by sep when both of mine wil be at school.
So pay cut has happened and we are juggling as best we can considering it is christmas and stuff. Then hubby tells me he has to go away with work ( not a choice and he has to go) so this makes working for me difficult I have borrowed as many favours as i can from friends to cover childcare and those who know of my sit have gladly pitched in bless them all. In the mean time I have decided that a full return to work may have to happen sooner rather than later which in itself creates the problem of earnings v childcare WE DONT QUALIFY FOR ANY HELP
any way we are coping quite well and surviving, this is our family motto at the moment surviving is essential- living is a dream that is getting nearer and nearer. As a back up plan we are trying to stash some of my wages away to keep us going if in the event i have to stop working while he is away. Then when we reach that we shall try and save so many months wages of his money and when we reach enough we will pay off a loan or the car.
If i had typed this at the beginning of the week it woukld have been doom and gloom i have calmed down and become more rational now so it is a bit more positive,
I have £300 stashed already- combination of good budget, chqs from special offers ie barclays house insurance tax refunds X 2 have put in a claim for bank charges.
so wish me luck

Hello marieb
Thank you for the update. It's great to see you are still fighting, despite the hiccups along the way.
I wish you the best of luck in the world, you deserve it.Leason learnt :beer:0 -
hi there
I did read your original post at the time, but I was just wondering if there was a reason you hadn't tried for a debt management plan with CCCS or Payplan?
I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Hi marieb
I've been wondering where you were and hoping everything was ok. It seems like you have things under control and know where you are going with it all. It can seem so daunting at first but it's little pieces chipping away that soon add up. I feel for you at the oment with your OH going away if mine did that (he's in the forces) I would be in a real mess jobwise and I would probably have to give up as I work shifts and no amount of childcare will cover a 2pm - 11pm shift. Please keep in touch and stick around we can all help give you support even if it's to let off steam!
hugs to you

Gosh that sounds like hard work. We owe about the same (slightly more actually :embarasse ) and also have to balance child care with me returning to work, which I very much want to do, and my husband goes away with work too, but only sometimes. Sounds as if our youngests are around the same age (4 1/2). I really admire your resolve :TIf you can't be a good example, be a dire warning

bless you all you are always so supportive
In answer to a question about Payplan etc
I am a bit pig headed and a bit proud really- I have spent the money and i feel that I should pay it all back and for as long as i can do that I will- besides when i rang national debt line and they told me how it all worked and that i could set myself a budget for this and that I thought well in 7 years time all the loans etc are paid off in full anyway with no black marks on our record.
Also with all the people i know who always have a go at me and tell me how silly I have been I want to be able to look them in the eye and say guess what we did it and we did it on our own without mummy and daddy bailing us out every last penny- that is our goal I cant say we really suffer from how we live as we have not ever lived any different since the kids came along we plod along and try to take each day as it comes.
Thanks all for caring and sending the love RIGHT BACK AT YOU ALL XXX0 -
