In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. I read the things on the metro this morning.
it just doesn't make sense also that this loan seems to be available only to people buying (overpriced) new builds - so it will help the developers trying to sell the new builds but not help people like me trying to sell my FTB 1-bed flat
Why do you need help? Just put it on the market and sell it.0 -

What happens in your example if HPI averages -5% (in real terms) over the next 5 years? Is maximum leverage still such a good idea?0 -
It's called FirstBuy.
If you do a search you'll see a couple of ads for it. I don't think it's officially live yet but they're taking names of those interested.0
