Pen for guestbook

Hi All

I have a guest book but I was thinking about the pen (I am thinking about all the silly little things!)

What do I do?-
The guest book will be on a table near the pressies etc- so people will jut take it and sit on there chairs and write in it?- So do I just put a pen next to it?- I can't see how to attach it to the book??

What is everyone else doing?

Thanks!

At weddings I've been to the guestbook is sat on a table with a pen next to it, and people sign it there, rather than taking it to their table. It might be a good idea to provide more than one pen, just in case someone accidently pockets one (I'm not calling your guests thieves, btw; we've all forgotten to give a borrowed pen back once or twice!).

Ill be having my guestbook table in our bar area for when people arrive so they can sign the book. On the table will also be my wishing well and all my decorations but then after the ceremony it will all be moved into the main room ready for our wedding breakfast and our reception later on. This is our guestbook http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/White-Satin-Heart-Shaped-Wedding-Guest-Book-%26-Pen_W0QQitemZ270722629317QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=220170438905&rvr_id=220170438905&cguid=de32718c12e0a0aa152523b5ff5cf6a0 but in Ivory and at the time i bought it (from a different seller) i didnt realise it came with a pen so i ordered one myself

I think we are just going to put a pen near the guest book. We have got a pen from Vistaprint with our names and wedding date on it to use but I think we may put another one as well just incase the other one gets lost.

If you want to attach the pen to the book you could maybe get some ribbon, tie one end around the pen and then stick the other end to the inside cover of the guestbook.

I'm sure it the pen gets seperated from the guestbook that the venue will have a few spare ones knocking around.

Im exactly the same, always thinking about random little bits. I got one free from vistaprint... got it saying ' please sign our wedding day guestbook' and then our names and dates underneath, will prob get another 2 just incase!

    Good luck with your planning

I've also been worrying about pens - but more about what pens to have? I want nice inky pens rather than biros, but I worry about whether they'll fade away after a few years... We're not having a guest book, we're having people sign on a photo frame mount instead, so it'd be exposed to light a lot. Has anyone else got something similar?
  • Hi

We had one of our ushers take the book around for people to sign.

I went to a wedding last year and they had a frame for guest to sign. We used a calligraphy type felt pen in black and looked very nice! They have a chisel rather than rounded nib and you can get them from all good stationers. I think I may use the same for my guest book just becuase it makes the writing look nicer than a biro.
