Whats the best bank account for a 16 year old to start. I have a Cahoot account but you have to be 21 to open one of thise. All she wants is a online access account with a cash card. Any ideas?

LTSB under 19 a/c with 2-1 visa debit control card and a decent rate of interest. (Don't forget to register for gross interest if you are not a tax payer)0

Totally agree. I opened one for my 16 year old son back in September (and also the 8% Monthly Saver).

She could open a 16-18 current account with Abbey. Comes with an Electron card and cheque book. Interest rate isn't that good at 1.5% but it can be linked to an Esaver paying 4.6%+0
