Hi guys,
I really need some help. 4 days ago I ordered some tickets from ambassador tickets for the theatre in glasgow.
today I received the tickets....along with the tickets and credit card details for 3 other customers......
I will call them and tell them but should i be telling someone else??? I shudder to think that my details could have been given to someone else like this!!!
Thanks

I'd consider complaining to the Information Commisioner's Office:

I was thinking of contacting the people and letting them know. but i cant find their contact details.
i had to call ambassador tickets twice as the first time the lady just gave me an email address and dismissed me then the 2nd time another lady took the details.
I dont think they will tell the people that someone else got all of their details, so should i somehow do it?
thanks0 -
Do you know the people IE did they used to live in your house before you and haven't changed their details over?
If not, I would have spoken to the representitive took her name and asked her what she was going to do. Then follow it up.
I wouldn't contact the people on the tickets. It could be fraud - you never know.0 -
no these people as far as im aware didnt live in the house. the previous owner was registered here for over 30 years.
ahhh i never thought about the fraud bit.
Unfortunately i didnt take any details from the lady. she just said the tickets would be voided and the customers would get new tickets sent out stating that they are sorry for the delay...
crap! I never thought of asking her....
any other thougts on what I should do...if anything at all?0 -
Make sure YOUR tickets aren't voided! One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

I'd be a bit wary about you're own situation as well.
It may be frowned on if you are found to have other peoples credit card details in your possession and are also trying to find their home addresses (or other personal data) ?
I'd take the advice of the first reply, then destroy the credit card data and use another ticket company in the future.“That old law about 'an eye for an eye' leaves everybody blind. The time is always right to do the right thing.”0 -
Goes against the whole data protection act of protecting customers personal details. I would go straight to Trading Standards with the evidence. That could have fallen into a fraudsters hands and could have potentially lost them hundreds of pounds. I would seriouslly consider taking it further, just incase it happens again, I don't think the lady realised the full extent of what has actually happened or the seriousness of it, which suggests to me she has very little knowledge of data protection (not her fault! her employer should have drummed that into her before allowing them to take card payments!)0

I was thinking about that but she never took any details about my booking at all. just the others.....
that shoudl be ok...shouldnt it?
I think its sad that even though Im doing (or trying to do) the right thing I have to be careful about myself as previously said. its such sad times...0
