Meaning ?? Sorry am being thick.

My letter telling me I had a bonus in my pay this month, said £232 before tax and NI. My understanding of that would mean roughly 30% of that gone. So should be about £160 extra, not £100

Meaning you were paid only £145 more than normal, not £232 as you suggest you should have been. Is there a reason your basic pay would have been lower than normal before the bonus was added?

    so I haven't had a £232 bonus.

I think I am going to have to have a discussion with my payroll. I cannot work it out.

Your pay seems to fluctuate quite a bit as the January figure is different again.
The key to this is was your February pay a 'normal' month's pay?

What is your basic pay supposed to be? Unless you know this, you don't know how much you have had.

Don't overtime and bonuses show seperately on your payslip?

    January payslip breakdown:

    Basic Pay x 147.50 hours = £1664.10
    O/T * 1 x 15 hours = 169.23
    O/T * 1.5 x 3 hours = 50.77
    O/T * 2 x 7 hours = 157.95
    Lieu Time x 15 hours = 169.23

    February Payslip:

    Basic Pay x 110 hours = 1241.02
    Holiday Pay x 52.50 = 592.30

    Normal payslip (November 2010)

    Basic Pay x 155 hours = 1748.71
    Lieu Time x 7.50 hours = 84.62

    My usual pay is £1425.42

I usually do 1 Saturday which equals 1 day off in the week hence the lieu time.

You made no mention of overtime, holiday pay, lieu time, or hourly rates in your OP. Speak to your HR Dept.

But why would that affect a bonus in a standard month pay like this month. My usual pay is £1425,42. I receive a bonus this month of £232 and yet I only get £100 extra in my pay this month.

If your usual net pay is £1425.42, then your Gross pay is £1,833.33, per month, ie £22000 per year. You were paid £1978.25 which means the bonus was £144.92.

Use the calculator to see what you would get out of your bonus, but It doesn't look like you have been paid the amount you were promised unless your Basic Gross was down for some reason, like unpaid leave?

Thanks, there is a 7.75 hours omission on the payslip which I have no idea why it is on there. I will just have to check with payroll then.

    7.5 hours = 84.62 so 84.62/7.5 X 7.75 = 87.44 + 144.92 = £232.36!

By George I think we've got it :)

Bonus has been paid, but wierd deduction has been made.
