Thanks for that Merlin. Try reading my post again where it states my nephew received DLA for his FIRST year of life. He's 6 now and doesn't get anything. His DLA stopped after he had his first palate operation. As for glue ear, I already know that happens because he's had several operations on his ears and is in line for another. He only started talking a year ago because doctors weren't convinced he didn't have anything wrong with his ears. My sister used his DLA for what it was intended, to take him to hospital (every 2 weeks, if not more) and to pay people to look after the child when she had things to do. Being a mum to another son at school, there were still parents evenings to attend, school concerts, sports days, shopping, many trips to the doctors for herself due to cancer treatment and Anaemia treatment etc, all things that could not be done with a baby susceptible to infection in tow.

The extra benefits I refer to was actually money from the Family Fund. I won't go into it but she got an awful lot of money from them, not actual extra benefits. Sorry I didn't make that clear!
Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)
