Just out of interest why would some of you keep such a large overdraft on your current a/c if you are not using it?
    1. Just in case something crops up. I was originially going to use mine to pay off negative equity on a house sale in 1995, but a rather good estate agent got me a better sale price.

    2. To show off on messageboards ;) .
I can understand that you would keep an emergency OD on your main current a/c just incase your salary was delayed etc.
However having such a large OD facility would mean there are more available funds should a fraudster gain access to your account.
The risk lies entirely with the bank. Not the customer.
  • Opinions4U - have u ever actually gone overdrawn?

I have used my OD in the past. The more I used it, the higher they raised the limit. Now though I am just chilling

Never by more than a couple of hundred pounds for a couple I'd days. Not at all since they introduced £1 a day charges.
