We are looking to relocate from Scotland to Southern England; by far the easiest way for us would be to p/ex into a new build, and yes we do know that the cost to change might be a bit more!
However, having spoken to Bellway, Barratt and Persimmon each one has said "no can do" siting the differing legal systems of the two countries.
Has anyone out there managed to do a p/ex Scotland to England, and/or is anyone aware of a builder who will do this?

We are currently p/ex with Miller, the move is within Scotland.
However, it is actually a 3rd party company (secure home purchase) who deal with the p/ex, they are based in England and obviously we are dealing with english solicitors to sell our house to them.
So if you wanted to look at Miller I wouldn't imagine it would be a problem.0 -
If you don't know the South East really well, I would recommend selling in Scotland and renting in order to get a feel for areas, commuting times etc. before committing to a purchase.
Not being tied to new builds could save you more than 6 months rent...Act in haste, repent at leisure.

Thanks; currently nowhere on their list of developments that suits, but I can at least keep them in mind.0 -

Thanks; as it happens I do know Southern England (not just the South East) pretty well, and was looking for an answer to the question I posed rather than advise on renting to save money.0
