Delivery times on orders

On 31/1/11 I ordered and paid on credit card for a bed from Carpet Right.
I was advised that there would be a 4-5 week delivery time which was printed on my order/receipt.
As I was still awaiting delivery on 11/3 I phoned and was told the shop would chase up.As happened again on 15/3.
The shop phoned and stated that the new expected delivery was the first or second week in April. I phoned and explained that I needed the bed prior to this date as I was away from home between 1-14/4 and the bed was needed B4 I went away I was advised that I could perhaps choose another bed, poss credit note or maybe refund? There was no other suitable bed in store and so I purchased another from another store. The shop is now saying that I have no right of refund and will have to accept either the bed or poss credit note even if it takes over 3 months to fulfil the order. I would not have ordered the bed if that lead time had been given when I paid on 31/1/11. What rights do I have to a full refund?

    Who advised this?

And you did this BEFORE getting a refund ?

Did you order on-line or in a shop ?

If on-line then you have the right to cancel before delivery and up to 7 days after (With a bed and matress I would NOT unwrap them)

If in-store, then I don't think your chances are good :( (Although you may be able to argue with the Credit Card Company over non-delivery ?)
