Recommendation for a Printer?

Hello
I bought a Kodak printer a while ago "save money on ink!" and it is a truly appalling printer. Goes through ink very quickly, misfeeds paper etc...
Anyway, I'm looking for another one. We use it for just run of the mill house stuff: letters, homework, scanning occasionally, odd picture.
Any suggestions? Costco have an offer on a Lexmark P901 but it gets mixed reviews.
Thanks for your help.

Epson will usually have a better choice for compatible cartridges

Photos will be better using a printer which uses 6 or more cartridges

I bought two PX800FW and one had to be replaced twice for different reasons. Used their £10 towards courier option and they sent the replacement with a set of inks
Have they got better? Haven't used much else, they seem more flimsy than the earlier ones, 950 and R200, the R220 seemed to be the start of cheaper looking models.
Inks here, amongst others, use Pro Jet in all but the R2880, which they do not have them for
