Cheap young drivers' car insurance? They're having a larf!!!!!!

Just picked up the latest email and was very interested to see that there was an article regarding pay per mile insurance via Coverbox.
Based on a 10 year old Micra 1000 cc and only 3000 miles pa, I filled in their quote form for my son and daughter.
I was then totally astounded when I saw that the quote was £3528.38!!!
If this is supposed to be some innovative way of insuring young drivers for less I think I'll stick with Admiral at £894.96 for exactly the same cover! After all who are coverbox?
Perhaps the "free tracker" is what puts the price up?

Hi Clive
Can I ask, has your children got full licenses?
I have two son's learning to drive. one has passed his theory the other about to book his.
I'm paying for their driving lessons, as neither can find work, and I thought it might be an advantage if they had full licenses, but at £40 per week for driving tuition, its getting tougher, so I wondered if there was any insurance company that would allow me to add them to my policy so I could sit beside them and they get more practise ( their instructor has told them they are ready for their tests but the old nerves kick in)0 -
Collingwood or Young Marmalade. Cover ceases as soon as they pass their tests, but advantage is that in the meantime if they hit your car, bonus is unaffected. Expect to pay c£80+ per month I think.0

Just got an online quote, very happy with the figures, as I drive a lot and to think the Lads can ferry me around, getting loads of practise toboot.0
