I have a Western Digital Passport and haven't had any issues with it. I also have a Samsung Story and I'm happy with that too.
What are you looking for? Size, performance, reliability?
I'd also recommend looking at the reviews on sites that sell the particular model of drive you're interested in, like Amazon for example.0 -
1TB + it's for backups mostly and movies/music for me to play on my ps3/xbox (the streaming is pretty slow) and I'm running out of space on my laptop so need to switch it over.0

I've never heard anything bad about the passpoirt, so i bought one for the better half's macbook (got the mac specific one) and couldnt get it to work properly... she now has a portable lexicon hard drive that works really well0

WD are my hard drive of choice. I've had one for 7 years still healthy.0

My nerdy IT storage friend rates hard drives in this order:
[Best] Western Digital [Better] Samsung [Average] Iomega, LaCie, Buffalo, Hitachi, Toshiba [Below Average] SeagateThe man without a signature.0 -
I've got 2 WD Passports which I use with my Macbook (not Mac specific ones) and I can't complain. They seem to be lasting well (one 3 years, one 2 years so far), and I've carted them about all over the place.0

How old is your laptop? I was unable to use a WD Passport on my (fairly) old laptop as the USB ports were limited to 500 mA which wasn't enough to run the drive. I ended up buying a LaCie disk that came with an extra cable that allowed me to draw current from two USB ports. On my latest laptop the USB output is higher and the Transcend Storejet that I now use runs fine plugged into one port (although it also comes with a Y cable to allow two port access if required).0

For it to work on a PS3 it needs to be formatted FAT32. Windows by itself wont do that (I use 'swissknife' to do it personally)
Im also not a fan of USB driven drives. I much prefer power via a plug socket:idea:0
