CVs - Bullet points or not?

Trying to tweak my CV yet again since its not getting me any interviews
Whats your opinions on bullet points in a CV? Do you use them or not? I think sometimes a list of bullet pointed duties can just end up looking like a job description. But it does look better presentation wise.
I have seen examples of CVs with bullet points and without and just wondered what the general opinion was.
Thanx

Personally I wouldn't use bullet points anywhere on a CV.
Be more descriptive in your CV.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0 -
Thats what I thought, so I re did mine and took them out. But now I dunno if it looks like there is too much text to read through.'If honour were profitable, every man would be honourable' Thomas More

when I am recruiting I read dozens of cvs in a sittting. The ones with bullet points are so much easier to get through and pinpoint the relevant information than the rambley ones.
Yes, bullet. Short, concise, easy to find your skills and achievements and match you up. Please, please make my life easier and use them! But DO match them to the skills highlighted in the job description. eg "retail experience needed" - bullet point "20 years retail experience"... not "worked in a shop for 20 years"Debt free 4th April 2007.
New house. Bigger mortgage. MFWB after I have my buffer cash in place.0 -
Hi,
I agree with Emmzi. Bullets make it much easier to filter out information when Im shortlisting ... and currently when jobs are so oversubscribed ANYTHING that makes that easier will make me consider that application slightly more favourably

Agree with Emmzi, when I have a pile of CVs in front of me, a CV that is clear and easy for me to scan is much more likely to get on the yes pile than a long rambling descriptive CV.0

Another vote for bullet points. If you want to demonstrate you can write grammatical sentences, you can do so in a covering letter or email.0

My profile and key skills are bullet pointed and my work experience is not, so don't feel you have to bullet point everything, just what you need to stand out.0

I have profile para of a few sentences first, followed by 5 short bullet points to emphasise key skills/achievements at a glance (& tailored to the job spec). Next prof quals/education no bullets. Next employment history my current role has 3 paras of wordy stuff - but each para only uses 3 lines (no bullets). All that fits on the first page. Page 2 has previous jobs with details of primary responsibilities in bulletted form, in short sentences, about 4 for each job.
I had mine critiqued by NextStep & a job club I used to attend, they both had a few good suggestions which I incorporated. Worked for me0 -
Bullet points but for skills rather than job duties.0

I've got bullet points on mine. Only 3 or 4 for each job with key details next to it which can be expanded on at interviewsSaved: £1566.53/ £20000
