Why can't I save money on the switching sites?

I'm on Websaver 6 with British Gas as a single fuel customer, with most of my electricity on Economy7.

But every time I use the Uswitch/compare sites it comes up with a minus figure!

Surely I can't be paying £260 less than their cheapest deal?

Possibly. Websaver 6 is a quite a good tariff and BG tends to be cheap for electricity. What's the unit rates that you are currently paying? And what's the closest competitor and what are they charging?

Oo, I don't really know - I think it's 4.something for night rate - I have a huge immersion which heats over night and storage heaters. It's 12 or so for day rate I think, too.

Electricity has gone up quite a bit since websaver 6 was introduced so it's inevitable that when you switch it will cost you more than your current tariff. However, when you do switch it will be cheaper than the standard tariff BG will convert you to when your current deal expires.

We are almost in the same boat, our EDF will finish end of june, only N-power comes up a few ££ cheaper for us...but somethings just arn't worth the hassle i would think unless your on a standard tarrif the big savings has done its day for the time being, so we will look a who's better for customer services as money wise there's no great differance at the moment
