i used panda last night as I was worried there was a virus on the computer. I have only recievd the lap top back last week and I knew I should not have used it until anti virus software had been installed but I wanted to surf0
-
I dont use Antivirus software
Did panda find anything regarding a trojan in that file?0 -
no it found 2 inected files but did not mention trojan. I will have to get someone at work to lookat it. the only problem is that by boyfriend looked up a couple of undesirable sites if you know what I mean ...... and i would like to make sure that when they lookat my computer they dont see what he was looking at.
what does the trojan virus do?0 -
tut, tut, tut.
Go to Internet Explorer, Tools (up top of screen), Internet Options. Click Delete Files, which will get rid of any temporary internet files from visited websites, and then press 'Clear History'. The PC might freeze for 1 minute, but dont worry about it. It just takes time to clear.
Generally Trojans dont do alot. I wouldnt be very concerned. I dont think it is even active. Just get one of ur work friends to get it into safe mode, and delete the file there (but make a backup of it).0 -
Strike eagle thanks so much for your help. hopefully this will be sorted out. I had myself so worked up about it cos I know very little about computers. well not the stuff that makes them work.
thank you for your time and help0 -
Oh I see what is has done...clever little trojan.
It adds a few random characters to the file name, so it is hard to spot:
I imagine you got this trojan:
