Also, I have deposits to gambling sites because I do Matched betting, will this affect my credit?

No, this wouldn't affect your credit. The only thing that appears on your credit file is credit accounts, with companies that lend you money.

Do you have a overdraft at the moment with Nationwide?

If not going down credit card route look too see if they will offer overdraft as this would show on your current account which shows on your reports all helps for later on, just don't use it or try not to!
Can I find out my credit score?
You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)

A couple of thoughts on the gambling -

When you do get a credit card, don't use it on those sites. Firstly you'll be charged fees and increased interest, and secondly youll be more likely to have your rates put up for being higher risk.

Secondly - try to kick the gambling habit a good while before you try to apply for a mortgage, where they will more than likely want to see bank statements. Banks will think twice about lending a few hundred thousand to someone who appears to live in Ladbrokes.
