Nice Areas in Kingston Upon Hull?

I was just wondering where the better areas were. I know K upon H regularly tops the "worst of" type of polls but I'm sure there must be some decent areas there - aren't there?

We used to live in Skirlaugh, which is about 7 miles NE of Hull. There are lots of other nice villages around Hull. Beverly is nice.£400+ in my £2 coin tablet fund0

I second Beverly. Cottingham (I think that's right) is also nice - so i've heard (but can be studenty):rotfl:0

I was actually meaning areas within Hull city boundaries.

The Avenues would be my choice, houses are nice, gardens a reasonable size, local shops/restaurants/bars on Princes Avenue, Pearson Park, buses into the city centre. Parking can be a bit tricky although it is free. My best friend lives in Victoria Avenue so maybe I'm biased!0 -
I only know West Hull well, but I agree with the Avenues - it is a lot more expensive than other areas though. Avoid the city centre end of Beverley Road, but once you're past that, between Clough Road and North Hull estate there are some lovely streets. Bricknell Avenue/National Avenue areas are fine, as is Chanterlands Avenue area (near to 'The Avenues' as well). I've heard that a lot of Anlaby Road, at the Anlaby end rather than the Hull end, is nice. I'd avoid any of the big estates and the Hessle Road area, and anywhere really close to the city centre (under 10 mins walk).
This is making me so nostalgic for my home city, I wish I could afford to move back home
