Bored.. trying to plan DH's party tomorrow on a V tight budget!

Got a feeling it's all going to go t*ts up! Trying to do a suprise party for approx 16 people on max £20 and that includes Dh's beer! Stress! So looking at £13 for food/decorations.. oh how I wish I would've sorted this early!
Probably going to go to iceland for the party food but am seriously stressing! It's just a basic houseparty but I want it to go well!!!

STRESS!!!

what time is the house party? Just that if you go tonight to Asda around 78pm then they reduce their stock to ridiculously cheap prices, get loads that way or Iceland do it towards closing, all the sausage rolls, coleslaw, salads, etc are down to 50p etc try that xxx

    eeek!

Insist everyone brings beer, and just supply some cheap mixer for those who want spirits. Stick to crisps and sausage rolls for snacks rather than pasta salads etc - cheaper and easier to use up as leftovers. I'm sure people will bring stuff, tis rude to turn up empty handed isn't it!

    Enjoy xx
  • The party's starts when DH gets home around 6 but not everyone will be turning up straight away so it's going to be a rubbish suprise as he'll be coming home to an empty house (His mates work the same hours he does!) Argh!!
I can't go to the shops tonight as I'm picking him up from work and was planning on going during the day tomorrow while he's at work.

Make your own pasta salad from a 3kg bag of pasta from the supermarket? I just chop up apples, onions, value cheddar, tin of kidney beans, tomatoes or whatever I have in the fridge and then make a quick dressing and it always goes down well.

Or could you make a big pot of chilli con carne or something and a huge roasting tin full of little jacket potatoes? That would be cheap and filling.
