HSBC branch -is it possible to phone branch direct anymore ??

Is it possible to phone a HSBC branch direct ??
I cannot phone branch direct & customer services cannot put me through
-all lines are busy !!

I have had problem with cash machine at HSBC branch after hours.
Knocked on door, branch staff said to come back tomorrow.

I want to phone branch in advance, so they can check cash machine, confirm problem.
So when I go to branch, they know of problem & can deal with me quickly.

I phone HSBC 0845 central contact number, they try to put me through, but all branch lines are busy. I have done this 3 times.

Ps: reminds me of Natwest TV ad having a go at other banks for closing branches & you cannot phone local branch anymore !!

Doesn't seem like it. I've had the same issue, they can only put you through, will not reveal the number of the branch. The only way you will get the number I think is by calling in and speaking to an actual person and getting them to write then number down or give you a business card with it on.
  • They won't check machine just for you.
If there is a problem you will have to wait until weekly balance of machine.

You will probably have to fill in a claim form, then when they check the balance of the machine they will repay if they find it is "out".

They cant check it just like that.

It is often possible to find the phone number of a bank branch by googling the name of the bank and the dialling code.

The reason the lines are busy is the branch network is ludicrously understaffed due to the fact that HSBC are stingy as hell when it comes to staffing the branches. They've probably taken the phone off the hook.

My money (£10) was refunded without me asking.
They must have checked machine & refunded automatically.
    Took 2 weeks.

I looked at my statement & thought what's that transaction, something's wrong, fraudulent activity !!
Then I realised it was a CREDIT of £10 I did not recognise out of the blue, refund of £10 !!

I didn't even have to ask.

There would have been no need to phone/go to the branch anyway. The telephone banking staff should have been able to deal with this for you, if you had explained the problem.

Has anyone elses HSBC Bank turned into what resembles Blackpool lights? :)

I actually like it, but they seem to be copying off A&L who's local branch has been glowing for months.
