Tate Modern and Hamleys/Harrods!!

Hi all

Can anyone give me advice on how easy it will be to do Tate Modern/Hamleys and Harrods (for Crispy creme donuts!) on a Saturday with 2 kids. We are planning to park up and get the tube in to London. Oh and stop off for something to eat somewhere.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

  • If you start with the Tate Modern - Tube; London Bridge - Bus RV1, (bus stop in Tooley Street) to Tate. Then, after Tate Modern, RV1 to Waterloo Underground - get the Bakerloo to Oxford Circus, for Hamleys. After, you can walk down Regent street, (or get a bus) to Piccadilly Circus, and get the Piccadilly line to Knightsbridge, for Harrods. All easily done in a day. Leave Harrods to last, you'll really want those donuts.

  • thanks very much Lemmy Caution, kids decided that they didn't want to go in the end but I'll keep the info for later in the year.
  • I forgot to mention that if you do go on a Friday or Saturday; Borough Market is open on those days. It's where all the 'foodies' go, and the quality and range of food is excellent. Plenty of stuff to eat as a 'take-away' like - hog roasts, bratwursts, venison burgers, and loads of vegetarian stuff. It's just opposite London Bridge station, next to Southwark Cathedral. If you felt energetic enough; you could then walk along by the Thames to the Tate Modern; passing the Golden Hind, and the Globe theatre.
