OP, did you get one?I really really wish i had enough spare time in my life that i could take an entire day queuing for a gadget today that will be available everywhere in a day or twos time.
That's because you're too busy on here reporting posts that have nothing to do with you to go anywhere else.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0 -

It has to do with me - it has to do with everyone. It an open forum. It was inappropriate. It was removed.
:rotfl:
How was it inappropriate? I do not benefit out of it? I do not receive any payment for recommending a friends business.
If I was to recommend an estate agent (my brother) and a solicitor (the many I've used over the years) would that also be inappropriate?Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0 -

If I was to recommend an estate agent (my brother) and a solicitor (the many I've used over the years) would that also be inappropriate?
Various reasons
(a) You were recommending it on a false basis. The guy is a friend of yours. You cannot give an objective recommendation for a friends product. You didnt for example say 'here my mate is doing this competition' - you personally recommended it.
(b) The 'Small Business' forum is not for competitions.
(c) The 'competition' was hardly fair given that your mate had you as a winner last week.
Now, the bottom line is here Steve, I didnt remove the threads. The MODERATORS did. I merely flagged it as potentially inappropriate, they examined the thread, deemed it to be in breach of posting rules and removed it.
If you have a beef with that, take it up with them.0 -
Various reasons
(a) You were recommending it on a false basis. The guy is a friend of yours. You cannot give an objective recommendation for a friends product. You didnt for example say 'here my mate is doing this competition' - you personally recommended it. Actually I can. I've dealt with friends and I would advise people not to go with them. What's the difference?
(b) The 'Small Business' forum is not for competitions. Small businesses don't need a website then?
(c) The 'competition' was hardly fair given that your mate had you as a winner last week. As Alex had posted, two entries, two winners. I can't enter again so what's the problem? My prize went on a fundraising page that I have been running for 2 years. I assume you have a problem with that as well?
Now, the bottom line is here Steve, I didnt remove the threads. The MODERATORS did. I merely flagged it as potentially inappropriate, they examined the thread, deemed it to be in breach of posting rules and removed it. Exactly, you flagged them because you have some sort of problem. Whether it's because you have no friends I don't know. Forum's are here to help people, not shoot them down like you appear to do.
If you have a beef with that, take it up with them. I have already and I'm waiting for a reponse.
Now, go find some friends.Estate Agent, Web Designer & All Round Geek!0 -
(a) Actually I can. I've dealt with friends and I would advise people not to go with them. What's the difference? Because you didnt state he was a mate - you implied you were being objective.
(b) The 'Small Business' forum is not for competitions. Small businesses don't need a website then? Small businesses need money - should i post a link on there every day to the national lottery? Its a competition too is it not?
(c) My prize went on a fundraising page that I have been running for 2 years. I assume you have a problem with that as well? Oh well if its for 'charidee' thats ok then.
Exactly, you flagged them because you have some sort of problem. Whether it's because you have no friends I don't know. Forum's are here to help people, not shoot them down like you appear to do. I checked if there was a link between you and this 'independent competition' as you have history of spamming on here in the past. I posted that information so that people could make a clear judgement on the independence of your thread (or not in this case). I reported it - as did others - so that the moderators could make a decision on it. You will notice that others thought it was spam and also Savvy Sue as a thread moderator flagged it to the board moderators. Forums ARE here to help people yes - but not to help your mates drum up business.
Now, go find some friends. WHY do all you internet types automatically assume that people have 'no friends'? Maybe i should dress up in a wacky Batman costume and see if that gets me some virtual friends?? :rotfl:
I have already and I'm waiting for a reponse. Would love to have read that email 'Dear Mods, i was spamming your site to drum up business for my mate and you've removed it!! !!!!!!!! I'm sitting here stomping my little Batman boots in frustration at this. How very dare you!! :rotfl:
Mate,
I will use smaller words this time -
(a) you posted a competition on the Small Business thread.
(b) its your mates website
(c) you were the competition winner last week in your mates competition -coincidence?
(d) you advocated the use of your friends business as if you were being objective - you werent. Hes your mate.
(e) the moderators removed it as it breached forum rules.
All of the above is FACT.
Can i suggest you admit you were in the wrong, move on and get a life?0
