Scottish Power Online Energy Saver 13

My current deal with Scottish Power is due to expire 31/3/11. Read the threads on here re switching to their latest offer. Tried e-mailing and then phoning to change to Online Energy Saver 13 but was told categorically that it was for 'new customers only' despite saying I knew that they had switched some existing customers to this tarriff. So much for loyalty - been with them for donkeys years so bye bye Scottish Power - off to British Gas I go, (Websaver 11) with £40 cashback and a saving of about £100 a year according to money supermarket's comparison site - would recommend any other Scottish Power customers having the same problem also vote with their feet - perhaps we can stop the 'new customer' culture if enough of us don't put up with it!

Did you tell them at the time you were going to defect to British Gas if they wouldnt change you ? Maybe they are taking a harder line now as quite a number of us have pushed and got '13' . Its a disgrace in my opinion how they seem to have different rules for different callers. None of the call centre staff seem to be singing from the same hymn sheet.

Ask them where it says in their terms & conditions it is for brand new customers only.

    Then complain, complain complain.
Should be worth 20 quid of anyones money (imho).

I phoned this morning and was swapped over in less than 5 minutes - no arguing they just agreed Energy Saver 13 was the cheapest tarriff for me and made the change.

Call centre with hundreds of operators, some nice, some cobby. GoTO your online account and press the ' callback ' button for a free phone call. Ask them if you are on the cheapest available tariff and suggest ES13 seems to be the cheapest for you and your family.

Do the above several times each day till you get one of the helpful nice operators. Bingo

Looks like Scottish Power are having some problems, I received this email. Looks like I can change my contact, I am on Online saver 6 would I be better asking to swap, I must say those Online saver tariffs are confusing.
Important information about your energy account
We wrote to you over the winter period to advise you of an increase to our energy prices which was effective 25th November 2010.
Whilst we have been billing you on these new prices, it has now become apparent that the new leaflet that we provided to you was not updated with the increased prices. We have now updated the leaflet and your prices will now increase with effect from 24th March 2011. Please visit http://www.scottishpower.co.uk/onlineenergysaver6 to view the correct prices (your supply area is Manweb). If you are not happy with these prices, please contact us*.
As a result, we will re-bill you on the lower prices - this will cover the period from 25th November 2010 to 23rd March 2011.
*You have the right to end your contract and have 20 working days from receipt of this email to do so. If you do that, and the transfer of supplier process begins no later than 15 working days after you inform us, the new prices will not apply. Changes to gas prices and the gas primary block mean that some gas customers will see a decrease in their annual gas bill.

I'm switching to the Online Saver 13 deal with Scottish Power. I'm changing from EDF, but it seems to be taking a long time. I submitted my application to SP over 2 weeks ago, and when I log into my "Account set-up progress" webpage, it is stuck right at the beginning and hasn't changed. I wanna switch asap, as I need the rebate that EDF have overcharged me for!

It takes a minimum of 4 weeks to change supplier, and more typically up to 6 weeks.

Don't worry too much about the fancy graphics SP supply. I recently switched to the earlier OLESaver 12 and the graphics were way behind.
The gas (which was switching from another supplier) got to stage 2 after about 2 weeks from request and stayed there with the electric which never moved from stage 1 until about 1-2 weeks after the switch was all complete.
