So I sold something on ebay and the winner pays for the item via paypal , because hey paypal is the mutts n*ts right ? I mean everyone use paypal so it can't be all that bad . WRONG
let me explain , I want to transfer funds from my paypal account to my bank account , so after paypal have fleeced their cut of my money , I'm informed it will take 5-7 days to reach my bank account.
Why ?
I also have a NOCHEX account and they can transfer money pretty much instantly into my account , so why can't PayPal ? I asked their crappy customer services team , who inform me that it's my bank's fault and not theirs ? NO IT ISN'T ! Like I said if Nochex can do it straight away , then why the f*ck cant they !!
So 3 days into the wait I ask them is there anyway to speed up the transactio (hey I need the money!) , I was told the money was not longer with them , so I called the bank and was told they have received the money either . SO WHERE'S MY F*CKING MONEY , some greedy git is using it to make money !!! GITS !!!!!

Thats standard for PayPal unfortunatly. I find it takes 5 days to hit my account when I withdraw each month. If PP have sent and the bank hasnt received then it should hit your account any time soon. If it hasnt by midnight tonight I would contact PP and ask for a reference number.
As long as the bank details you entered are correct then it will make it to your account. Ive withdrawn once a month for nearly 4 years and never missed a payment although it is slow.
To be honest.. it's probably just a cheaper option for PP not to do an instant payment.- Matthew - Yep I'm new here

Nope , wrong. When I asked PayPal , they tried to blame my bank , saying it was the banks policy that cause the delay , I told them that was b*ll*cks as Nochex could do it immediately , but yet they insisted on blaming my bank.:mad:0 -
Nochex isn't instant to your bank account either, it takes the usual 2-3 working days processing time, but it can take longer.
I also hate paypal and would never use them again, no matter what.0 -
Didn't you read up on the terms before using Paypal?
If you had, you would have known it takes between 5-7 days (somtimes 10!) to reach your bank account.
If you didn't read up on them, there's no point ranting about it now - terms are set there clearly so we can read them before considering using PaypalTank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
It is a standard transfer time.... plus a merchant account doesnt receive funds instantly either - it is high risk for a service like paypal to send money to your account before they even receive the money from the card holder.
I can only assume that your Nochex is instant because you bank with the same bank as they do... for me it takes 3 working days. The difference with nochex of cause is the fact you arent liable for fraud and so it doesnt make the greatest of difference on the money being in their account or not as they will always be the ones that lose out. With paypal it is closer to a true merchant account as you the seller is liable for any fraud and as such they may decide to wait the 3-5 days for the funds to clear into their account before they transfer (another 3-5 days) into yours.
Of cause you could get a true merchant account but then you have the same 3-5 day wait for the money to go into the merchant account and will most likely have to put a £1-5000 deposit down to cover chargebacksAll posts made are simply my own opinions and are neither professional advice nor the opinions of my employers

I won't use Pay pal - too many horror stories. I won't give a company the right to take money out of my account whenever they feel like it or when some scammer tells them I haven't sent something.
Way too risky and not worth it for the small amount of stuff I might have bought off EBAY.Don't grow up. Its a trap!
Peace, love and labradors!0
