IIRC there were a few tiddlers for daft amounts, like £60.

There's one for £500 isn't there? If you get that removed, I'll be truly impressed. ;)

God so negative on here today, I would be pleased if someone had managed to get there defaults removed! The defaults were only for small amounts, 1 was for £72 and the other for £57 so maybe the small amount help but still they have been removed :j
I am default free by the end of the month:j

We didn't mention to barclays about consolidating the debts but you are probably right it will be my husbands late payments and a few defaults. Do you think if we can get the defaults removed and the payment up to date we would have more chance with the additional borrowing?

You still face the problem of consolidating debt which many lenders will not be happy with. You've had so many threads I'm losing track, but it isn't it 35k of debt you have? Why not tackle the source of the debt - have you posted a Statement of Affairs on Debt Free Wannabee? What does your mortgage adviser advise you to do>

We are now looking at overpaying our debts as much as we can so they are paid off early. We have decided to stick with our current mortgage as it's so good at the moment. I am in the process of reclaiming mis sold PPI from Lloydstsb which will go to paying off our debts. I have some many thread because you lot are so good at giving advice when it's needed :j

is a default the same as a late payment? if so I have had one successfully removed too. Only for £4.00 but the impact it had on my credit score was substantial.

No it isn't. A late payment is a late payment.

It shows as a "1" in the payment schedule on your credit file.

If you fall into arrears, the 1 then gets a 2 next to it and so on...

After three months payments remain outstanding, the lender will normally issue you with a default notice, telling you to bring the account up to date or they may mark the account as defaulted.

Once a default is marked, this will remain on your file for upto 6 years. If you repay the debt, the provider can have it marked as satisfied on your credit file.
