You are either of the mindset to share your answers and post on open internet forums such as this one or you are not. If you are not then why not just buy the magazine do the puzzles and enter? Sorry I just don't get why anyone would think something that is posted on MSE Competitions is unusable by others. I am sure lots of people buy the magazine and hope to win from their efforts which of course is what the magazine would actually really want.

Can i just add a question to those complaining about duplication........have you ever found a comp on another board with an answer and posted it here? If you have then surely this is the same thing. The internet is about information wherever you get it from if you don't like people using your information then stop posting it on the net.

as long as i've been comping & i bet that's years over you, there's always been a compers conduct that peeps don't 'lift/take' magazine answers from other forums, it's not realy the done thing & AFAIK this conduct is still used among a lot of comp sites,
　
yes, email/main entry comps get copied & are posted everywhere, i think everyone accepts that,
as sites post/email newsletters/ are posted regularly & are not paid for,

i post the magazines to contribute on MSE for all the other comps i get from ops on here,
i don't believe in just taking & have always tried to contribute,
to have others taking magazine answers is a different thing altogether x

we shall have to agree to disagree on this one i'm afraid. If you had real integrity with competitions you would never use someone else's link or answers. I don't see how doing a magazine competition and posting the answers to allow thousands of people to enter without ever having to buy the product is any different from entering hundreds of others posted by equally well meaning people.

I guess I must be missing something here because it strikes me if you are willing to enter comps from others and post some yourself you are facilitating the copying and sharing of information from others.

Everyone is allowed their opinion and this is clearly yours.

HOWEVER; perhaps you would like to take to the stand and take over where Firefly has left.
Perhaps then when you notice how much money you are spending and your precious time, you will see how much effort goes into it.

There is a difference from posting links from a website to going out to buy the mags.
But seeing as you don't do any mags on here for peeps to share, you wouldn't understand the effort.

Firefly does an amazing job and is not thanked enough in my opinion.
After all, if you go and have a look at the IWIWIW board, try and count the amount of "thanks FF I won" posts.
(If you've got enough time )

I think your opinion on subject is totally wrong but that's just me.
Like I said above, perhaps you should spend the money and take the time just like FF and many other postals do and you will understand why Firefly is angry and probably upset.

Thanks to Jokey for offering to take over the posts however; she shouldn't have to do this as,
1. It's not her place.
2. She's heavily pregnant and I assume, does not need more responsibility right now, amongst anything else.

Perhaps the lurkers or the non comp posters would like to dip into their pocket and use all that spare time you have?

i might be reading you wrong but way i'm reading your reply is you don't believe in people posting comps for everyone to enter,
i thought MSE comps board was made for the compers to share & post comps,
i'm not copying & sharing from others comps,
i enter others comps that they post on here but i don't copy/post thier comps anywhere else

tbh i thought that when jokey said she would do them, it's not fair on her when she has, is it 6 children ? or this is the 6th one coming i realy don't know, & jokey posts loads of comps on here already for everyone

oh dear you have so missed the point. :D

if firefly or anyone else for that matter wanted to buy a magazine, do the puzzles and post the answers to an elite group of people allowed to see them then thats fine - start a blog or a private facebook. Maybe you could even collect funds to pay for your mag every week. However if you have offered to post the answers on the world wide web on an open forum for anyone and everyone to see then you have no come back when the answers are used by someone viewing the thread.

Perhaps all her friends and supporters on here could also dip into their pockets rather than just clicking a thanks button and hoping to win off the back of it.

There are some really strange mixed values that exist in the competitions board thats for sure.

I think it's her 6th on the way.
Yes, you're correct, she does do loads of comps already but Jokey offered because I assume she understands the time, money and effort that goes into it.
I'm sure that if Jokey had a problem, she wouldn't have offered to do them for you.

Don't worry ff, I'm sure once people start noticing the decline in their comp entries, someone else will be willing.

Fire**fly knows my feelings about all of this.

All I can say is that there are some quite nasty people around these days.....life is far too short for all this trouble......if you had been as ill as I have been at times over the last 18 months, maybe you would realise that life is precious, good health a blessing to be appreciated and that you need to make the most of every day.
