Possible to Change Name of Current Account

Hello

I have a current account with Nationwide that I haven't used for years, but am thinking of using it for my self employment work (to keep it separate from my main personal account with another bank).

It currently uses my 'name' on card etc but does anyone know if I could change it to the name of my business, so I can ask clients to write out cheques and stuff to my business name?

Any thoughts on this, greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance
Vicky

No you need to open a business account. Personal accounts can only be in individuals name.

I wouldn't think so, after all, it's a personal account not a business account, but I think you are asking the wrong people anyway, only your bank will be able to answer that question. Good luck

You can open a business account in your own name "trading as [name of your business]". That way cheques can be deposited whether they are made out to you or to your business name.

A business account is needed. It'll break the terms of your Nationwide a/c to run business transactions through it.
