I used to work for an insurance company (a long time ago) when we had tables for each type of Life Assurance. So when an enquiry came in we could look at the righ table (making sure we looked at the smoking or no smoking version) then give an idea of costs.
Is there no web site/s that still allows you to do this to peruse the likely costs for whatever period and type of cover you are thinking of?
I can't find one and so am coming across, on every site, that requires so much input and then they want to call you to talk it through. Or should I say talk it up!!! Then when you call we have found the first company try and get you to talk with a FA which we do not want.
Could use some help?????

Ah! The heady days of rates per £,000, females taken as males four years younger and adding the policy fee on later!

I guess you'd only get that now if you worked for an insurer and there was some need to produce a paper version?
If you want some rough quotes, set out what you're looking for, ages, smoker status, term etc and I'll post them back here for you.I am a mortgage broker. It doesnt work like that anymore. Ive literally just left a life office in the last week or 2.
Because rates change monthly (if not more often) you could imagien how much confusion there would be with people using the wrong rate tables etc.
They do need to run it through a system.
Advisors now have access to systems called assureweb/the exchange which can save going through all the different companies seperately. But yea no rate cards im afraid.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Maybe their FSA permissions dont allow them to distribute direct to public?I used to work for an insurance company (a long time ago) when we had tables for each type of Life Assurance. No you are making me feel old. I remember those. Although they are long gone thankfully. With things like online underwriting and online processing, you have near instant pricing available and instant coverage and premiums have fallen significantly due to the cost savings compared to those old chart days.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
