Hi
My daughter is getting a Creative Zen vision m 30GB MP3/Multimedia player for Xmas.
She also wants a docking station & speakers. I have seen Ixos pink round sound speaker & Intempo speakers. Both say they are compatible with ipod.
I am totally baffled, is the Creative Zen not an ipod? is it an Mp3 player?
If anyone could help me out & let me know of any speakers/docking station which are compatible I would be extremely grateful.

No, sounds like your confusing the terms Ipod and Mp3 player.
An Mp3 player is merely a device that plays mp3's. Mp3's are a type of music format. Basically a music file that you can play on your computer, phone, or... portable mp3 player.
iPods are a type of mp3 player. Made by Apple. Very popular, iconic player that's heavily marketed.
The Vision M is also a type of mp3 player, but made by Creative. So no it's not an iPod. In fact it's a competitor.
Does she already have a hifi? It may be better to check if it'll be possible to hook it up to that. I'm personally not a fan of docking/speaker systems. There are easy to use, but I find often overpriced."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
Thanks Wolfman, you have explained it really well & its made sense.
She doesn't have a hifi.0 -
Hmm, I don't know of any docking/speaker systems for the Creative Vision M. You'd have to Google around. I've had a quick Google, but didn't come back with anything."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0

Hiya
I have a Zen Vision M.
The player gets charged up through connecting it to your computer's USB port. This also allows the transfer of music and video files between the player and the computer (the Zen Vision M plays movies very well, but it can be heavy on the battery.) A recent Amazon reviewer (2 Nov 2006) says that he got a mains charger cable with his. I didn't - and charging up by usb cable is a slow process. You should ask whether you get this mains charger cable before you buy.
I see there is a docking station on Amazon.co.uk and dabs.com (slightly cheaper)

but note that you still need to connect the docking station to the computer via the usb cable. It doesn't come with speakers, but does say that you can connect it to 'to an external display and amplifier.' Whilst it is in your docking station, you could connect its earphone socket via a cable to a small set of special speakers...perhaps

but you would need to check that you had the right cable.
Perhaps you could call the people at the following link - as they seem to sell the correct audio-video cables, which are slightly different to what you need.
