Help I need help.

Hi:)Every one

I hope that you can help me with my printer , it is a epson stylus DX5050. I was working up to three months ago, but we had some building work done, and we packed the printer etc.,But it became dusty..Now the printer says that we have no ink, I have changed all the inks and reinstalled the softwear. And Still it tells me that we have no ink.

My husband has just been put on short time, and we need the printer to printer things, so he can apply for new job. But we have no money to purchase a new printer.

Please if you have any information to help us well would be very greatful..

Thank again

Maggie T

I'm sure someone can walk you through getting the printer going. The first thing that comes to mind is that you may need to clean the printer heads, as may have become dry over time. The printer might have a method of doing this. There are alcohol-based cleaning kits as well. It's been years since I've used an inkjet, so I'll leave it to the other posters to walk you through this, as well as other things that might be the issue.

An alternative is to join your local Freecycle and Freegle groups, as it's not uncommon for a printer to be on offer at least every other week. You could write a Wanted post on both sites and a brief explanation of why you want it. People don't like over the top sob stories (https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2471643) though :) When you finally fix your original printer, make sure you offer one up for someone else to use.

Lastly, at worst in the short term you can print at a library if there are specific things (like a CV) that need doing.
