Can you BT from a 'closed' CC Account?

Hi there
RBS have just written to me with a lovely birthday surprise - they are rate jacking me the day before my birthday!
This is the only credit card that I have a balance on now, having been focusing on clearing other cards and getting my finances in order since my LBM in the middle of January.
I have around £9.5k on it, which I will have cleared by August so I am quite happy to close the account so that I can retain the existing interest rate, but if I am subsequently able to get a 0% BT offer is it still possible to do that from an account that has been 'closed' & is being paid off?
Thanks for your help, folks - any advice appreciated.

Yes you can BT from a closed account. If you BT to a Barclaycard, you just have to make up an expiry date. Works fine
Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Whilst I haven't done it I really can't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to. It's just a payment when all is said and done.
Happy Birthday!I myself am made entirely of flaws, stitched together with good intentions...0 -
Technically the account won't be "closed" until you get the balance to down to zero. Apart from that, good move.UnderControl wrote: »[...] I am quite happy to close the account so that I can retain the existing interest rate [...]Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??
