Tesco changes from Visa to Master card - but what about my olympic tickets?

I recieved a new Tesco Mastercard in the post today which apparantly I didn't opt out of. I wouldn't normally be overly bothered by this, however I have just ordered tickets for the olympics which can only be bought on a visa card. If I am lucky enough to get tickets, I don't find out until June, then the money doesn't go on to the credit card until June. I put in the deatils of my Tesco Visa credit card (as my new card hadn't arrived then).
Does it matter that since applying for tickets I have been issued with a new card that is no longer a visa. The expiry on my visa is 08/13.
I will be mad if this messes up my Olympic ticket chances!!!
Thanks in advance

It shouldn't depends when they close your existing card it could be before 08/13 therefore you'd miss out, call them and find out or check Ts & CsCan I find out my credit score? You do not have a single credit score or rating. Different organisations take different information into account when working out your credit score and may have different scores for different products. (Kindly from Experian)0

I think you'll find that if you are lucky enough to get tickets the charges go on your card in May although you don't get them until June.0

I am in the same situation.
I rang on exactly this point and was told the card would not be valid as it would be cancelled next week. If I wanted to revert to a Visa card, I could apply to do so. However, because I hadn't said so in time, it will be a new card with a different number.
(NB I don't know if the terms will be the same as the old card, or just those available for new cards - I will have to ring again and ask about this.)0 -
Me too - i'm livid - i assumed the Mastercard which came in the post was a marketing tactic since i had not requested it (like so many others that land on the doormat) and binned it. So today my credit card was refused and apparently i didn't opt out so the Mastercard i threw away is now my active credit card. After complaining on the phone Tesco said i could be "downgraded" to a Visa card but it would take maybe 5 days and i should receive it before the olympic ticket window closes. I'm not taking my chances and will have to get another of my Olympic party to order the tickets. I've written a formal letter of complaint to Tesco - personal financial arrangements should not be changed without positive authorisation from customers.0

I can totally understand your frustration at your current situation but I am pretty sure, buried under the T&Cs that Tesco Finance reserve the right to move their customers to a different card scheme.0
