Should have looked before posting lots of replies! They will want your first two pay slips if working monthly.0

What you do is inform the council that you have a job, they will assess the new claim based on your wages. Anything else is fraud.
Sorry, it's clearly stated on the official Government website that if you've been unemployed, without interruption, for 26 weeks prior to returning to work and in receipt of benefits then you may be considered for an extension in your Housing and Council benefit for one more month after signing off in order to help you get back on your feet - this is regardless of wage slips or hours per week, this is taken into account if you earn less than £15,000 per annum and you want to continue seeking Housing Benefit after the initial month
To qualify for this benefit, known as Extended Housing Benefit Scheme, you must also be in a job which will offer you a minimum of 5 weeks work0 -

HI, it doesnt matter how much you earn, the 4 week run (EPP-extended payment plan) on is based on the fact that you must have been in receipt of a relevant benefit (jsa, esa,Ib etc) for 26 weeks without a break and expect your job to last more than 5 weeks.
The 4 week run on is paid at the same rate as you were getting while claiming jsa etc regardless of any changes in rent or entitlement that may have happened had you carried on your claim.
If you are paid monthly we (where i work) are always happy to take either a letter from your employer or contract of employment to base your new claim period on until you have the relevant number of wage slips, as long as these details things like start date, hours pay etc. You should submit these within a month of he council being notified that your benefit has ended, but i always give an a month after the EPP (coz im nice :rotfl:)0 -

Do I need to notify the benefits office that I now have a job and then ask for the month? Or do I just not tell them until one month into my job?
You need to notify the council and job centre that you have started work and you will get a bonus of 100 pounds and a 1 month run on with yourt council tax and housing benefit providing you haven't had a break in the last 6 months. You will need to provide payslips to the council for the month so that they know how much you earn on average a month and if you are eligible for any help afterwards. Hope this helps0 -

Thanks for your post a while back, it was really helpful. Unfortunately I did something stupid and never submitted my payslips and contract on time yet I had all of summer(letting one months worth of housing benefit go like an idiot). The Housing benefits office sent me a threatening letter two weeks ago saying that I owe them 1 months worth of benefits and because I never brought my documents in when I suspended the claim, they are sending me to the debt collectors.
I have now arranged my appointment which is tomorrow, the only problem I have is that my first three months payslips have got Mr instead of Ms because the guy in payroll made a mistake when he processed my documents. I am going to bring in all my payslips anyway because the subsequent ones have Ms written. Do you think they will have a problem with the Mr? Do I need to ask our payroll department to write to them to explain the mistake or those other payslips with my correct title should be sufficient?0
